Kano Pillars are unbeaten after four games, with two wins and two draws. They sit sixth on eight points, and their ten goals are the joint-most in the division, level with Rivers United.
Daniel Ogunmodede’s side opened with a 2-2 draw at Kwara United, then beat Niger Tornadoes 3-2 at home in a five-goal Matchday 2 thriller. Their best display came on 20 September, when they beat Doma United 4-1 to end the leaders’ perfect start. Abdullahi Musa, Rabiu Ali, Ahmed Musa and Nasiru Salihu all scored that day.
However, midweek was less convincing. Ubong Friday put Pillars ahead after 33 minutes at Inter Lagos on Wednesday, but Bashir Abdulkarim equalised with 15 minutes left and the game finished 1-1, as AfricaTopSports reported. In short, Pillars create plenty, but they’ve also conceded six goals in four games.
Enyimba have lost all four of their league games, scoring three and conceding eight. As a result, they sit 20th and last, the only club without a point.
The run started with a 2-1 defeat at Niger Tornadoes on opening day. A 2-0 loss at Doma United followed, and then newly promoted Inter Lagos won 1-0 in Aba. On Wednesday it got worse. Enyimba led twice at home against Sporting Lagos, through Stanley Dimgba and a Tobi Iyanda penalty, but Sporting Lagos scored three second-half goals to win 3-2.
