Amedspor president Nahit Eren has cleared up the financial details of the loan. Speaking to Turkish outlet GZT, as reported by Leadership, Eren said the club paid Hoffenheim €500,000 for the season-long loan, not the €1 million reported earlier.
More importantly, the deal includes a mandatory purchase clause. Once Orban reaches 10 league goals, Amedspor must make the move permanent. The reported fee is €3 million, which the club would pay in instalments over the coming years.
Orban joined Amedspor in the summer after a patchy season on loan at Hellas Verona. In fact, few expected an instant impact at a newly promoted club. However, he has been involved in nine goals in just over 400 league minutes.
He opened his account with an assist in a 3-0 win over Erzurumspor. After a quiet afternoon in a 2-0 defeat at Kocaelispor, the goals started to flow. He scored against Trabzonspor, then added two in 45 minutes during a 2-2 draw at Kasımpaşa.
The big one came on 13 September. Orban scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 thrashing of Başakşehir. Then, last weekend, he opened the scoring and set up another goal as Amedspor beat Beşiktaş 3-2 to go top of the table.
For a club in its first top-flight season, Orban’s goals are huge. Amedspor have won four of their first six games and sit top after the Beşiktaş win. As a result, triggering the clause early would lock in their main goal threat on a fixed, affordable fee.
That said, the clause is about goals, not appearances. Orban has never been a model of consistency since his breakout at Gent. Keeping this pace over a full Süper Lig season is a different challenge entirely.
