Is 22Bet legit in Nigeria? The Lagos regulator’s register lists it as licensed until 22 May 2027. However, we have corrected this guide, because we could not back our earlier claim of NLRC and Curaçao licensing. Here is what we checked on 9 October 2026, what we could not confirm, and how to check any bookmaker yourself.
22Bet’s Nigerian site also says in its footer that the company is licensed by the LSLGA and by the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board. The site blocked our direct request, so we read that text through a page extract. We treat the Oyo claim as the operator’s own. A register entry shows that a licence exists, but it is not a promise of good service. This guide is not legal advice.
Does 22Bet have an NLRC licence?
We could not confirm that 22Bet holds an NLRC licence, so we no longer say that it does. Coverage in October 2023 was mixed. Nairametrics, Lottery Daily and CasinoBeats listed 22bet among operators the NLRC said held federal licences. However, the News Agency of Nigeria and Legit.ng printed 19 names without it.
The NLRC’s own list of licensed operators would not load for us. Also, 22Bet’s footer names Lagos and Oyo, not the NLRC. So we print no NLRC number, because the numbers we found did not match.
Does 22Bet have a Curaçao licence?
22Bet’s Nigerian site does not state a Curaçao licence, so we do not claim one. Some review sites link the international brand to a Curaçao licence, but we could not verify its current status. Curaçao has also been replacing its licensing system. Yogonet and Curaçao Chronicle reported that provisional licences were extended in 2025 and could continue until a final decision. So a licence number on a review site may be out of date.
What do reviews say about 22Bet?
Reviews are split: on Trustpilot, 35% of about 2,500 reviews for 22bet.com give five stars and 57% give one star, and no TrustScore is shown. Praise centres on fast withdrawals and support. Complaints cover deposits not credited, slow withdrawals, accounts restricted after wins and repeated document requests. That is the international profile, not a Nigeria-specific one, and Trustpilot does not check reviews.
The 22Bet site shows a copyright notice that dates from 2017. PSG also named 22Bet its first official African betting partner for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, according to iGaming Business. However, a sponsorship is not a licence check.

How can you check if a bookmaker is licensed?
Search the LSLGA register by trade name and company, then check the end date and the illegal operators list. First, open the register and find both names. Then read the category and the end date, because an expired licence means the operator cannot currently offer that service in Lagos. Next, check the illegal operators list. The LSLGA also publishes its own guide to checking an operator.
Yes. The LSLGA register lists Arcadia Hospitality Limited, trading as 22bet, with a licence running to 22 May 2027, as we read it on 9 October 2026.
Is 22Bet licensed by the NLRC?
We could not confirm that. Coverage from 2023 was mixed, and 22Bet’s own footer names Lagos and Oyo instead.
