Is 1xBet legal in Nigeria? In Lagos, the official register lists it as licensed. However, we could not confirm a current federal licence, so you should check the facts yourself. This guide sets out what we found on 9 October 2026, what we could not confirm, and how to run the same check.
That matters because Lagos law says a person without a current licence must not run any gaming activity in the state. Nigeria’s rules are also split between states. A Supreme Court judgment in November 2024 left betting and gaming to state governments, as the News Agency of Nigeria reported. So the Lagos register tells you about Lagos only. This guide is not legal advice.
What licence does 1xBet hold in Nigeria?
The licence we could verify is the Lagos one held by Beauforbet Nigeria Limited. In January 2020, iGaming Business and SBC News reported a five-year national licence for the same company, valid until 2024. That term has now run out by its stated dates, and we found no report of a renewal. The NLRC’s own list of licensed operators would not open for us, so we cannot say 1xBet holds a current NLRC licence.
The lottery regulator’s site is nlrc-gov.ng, with a hyphen. The address nlrc.gov.ng belongs to the Nigerian Law Reform Commission, which is a different body. Meanwhile, 1xbet.ng calls itself a licensed bookmaker, but the pages we read name no regulator and no licence number. A review site quotes a number, but the Lagos register shows none, so we leave it out.
Does 1xBet have an offshore licence as well?
Reports say 1xBet’s international business holds a Curaçao licence, but we could not tie it to the Nigerian site. Curaçao Chronicle and iGaming Times reported in September 2026 that a company called Caecus NV was licensed there in 2024. They cite Follow the Money. The same reports say assessors suspected multiple owners, yet the licence went ahead. They do not show wrongdoing.
We found no licence number, so we print none. Curaçao has also been moving to a new licensing system, so any older licence claim needs a fresh check before you rely on it.
What do independent reviews say about 1xBet?
Independent signals are mixed, so treat them with care. On Trustpilot, 1xbet.com has about 8,500 reviews and 72% give one star, while Trustpilot shows no TrustScore for it. Common complaints are slow withdrawals, repeated ID checks and deposits that were not credited. These are unverified user reviews of the international site, not Nigeria-specific figures.
Abroad, the Dutch gambling authority fined two 1xBet-linked companies in 2019 for targeting Dutch consumers without a licence, according to iGaming Business. That case does not apply to Nigeria, but it shows why a licence check is worth doing.
What does the 1xBet welcome offer include?
Our review lists a 300% first-deposit bonus up to ₦600,000, with a minimum deposit of ₦1,700. We could not read 1xBet’s own bonus terms, because its pages load dynamically, so we do not state wagering or expiry figures here. Read the current rules before you deposit. Our 1xBet welcome bonus guide, minimum deposit guide and promo code page cover the steps.
18+. New players only. 300% first-deposit bonus up to ₦600,000. Min deposit ₦1,700. Check the live T&Cs. Play responsibly.
Can players be punished for betting with 1xBet?
We found no case of a Nigerian player being prosecuted for betting with a licensed or offshore site, but we cannot promise you are protected. Lagos law is aimed at operators who run gaming without a licence. Reporting from 2020 said authorities did not prosecute people who bet at offshore sites, although that view is dated. So treat it as a grey area, and ask a lawyer if you need advice.
How can you check if any bookmaker is licensed?
Search the LSLGA register by trade name and company, then check the end date and the illegal operators list. First, open the register and find both names. Then read the category and the end date, because an expired licence means the operator cannot currently offer that service in Lagos. Next, check the illegal operators list. The LSLGA also publishes its own guide to checking an operator.
Yes. The LSLGA register lists Beauforbet Nigeria Limited, trading as 1XBET.NG, with a licence running to 5 August 2027, as we read it on 9 October 2026.
Does 1xBet have an NLRC licence?

Is 1xBet on the Lagos illegal operators list?
No. We searched the list on 9 October 2026 and found no entry for 1xBet.
Is it safe to deposit with 1xBet?
We cannot call any bookmaker safe in every case. Check the licence first and use only the official site or app. Then start small, finish ID checks early and keep screenshots of the bonus terms. If a problem comes up, see our 1xBet problems FAQ.
How we checked: last checked 9 October 2026. We read the LSLGA register, illegal operators list and checking guide that day, then compared them with trade press and Trustpilot pages. Licences and terms change, so confirm them before you deposit.
