When are the Premier League international breaks in 2026/27?
There are three. The September and October breaks have been merged into one 16-day window, so the league is paused right now and returns with Matchweek 6 on 10 October.

What time do Premier League matches kick off in Nigeria?
From August until 25 October 2026, UK time and Nigerian time are the same. A 3pm UK kick-off is 3pm WAT. When the UK clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, Nigeria is one hour ahead, so a 3pm UK kick-off becomes 4pm WAT.
The UK clocks go forward again on Sunday 28 March 2027. From then until the end of the season, UK and Nigerian times match again. The usual Saturday slots are 12:30pm, 3pm and 5:30pm UK time. That puts most games in the Nigerian afternoon or evening.
What are the other key dates for 2026/27?
The festive period, the January transfer window and final day are the other dates to plan around.
Festive fixtures: Boxing Day falls on Saturday 26 December 2026. The Premier League has said no club will play two matches within 60 hours of each other over the festive period.
January transfer window: it opens on 1 January 2027. Expect squad news that affects Nigerian players at clubs such as Fulham and Coventry.
Final day: Sunday 30 May 2027, with every match kicking off at the same time.
Which Nigerian players should you follow this season?
Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at Fulham, Frank Onyeka and Taiwo Awoniyi at Coventry, and Semi Ajayi at promoted Hull City are the key names. Ajayi scored on the opening weekend against Manchester United.
