Our Ipswich vs Fulham prediction for Saturday 10 October: form, team news, Iwobi and Bassey, head-to-head and betting angles.

Our Ipswich vs Fulham prediction is a 1-1 draw at Portman Road on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at 3:00 pm WAT. Fulham are still looking for a first league win after five games. Ipswich have conceded in each of their last 24 league games. Two Super Eagles, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, are expected to start for the visitors.
Ipswich vs Fulham kicks off at 3:00 pm on Saturday, 10 October 2026, which is 3:00 pm in Nigeria (WAT), at Portman Road. The game is not shown on UK television, because of the Saturday 3 pm blackout. However, no referee had been announced when we wrote this. Also, it is the first league game back for both clubs after the international break.
Ipswich are 11th on six points, while Fulham are 19th on two points. Both figures date from 20 September, because nobody has played a league game since. Ipswich have won two of five, because they beat Sunderland 2-1 at home on the opening day and then won 3-2 at Crystal Palace on 12 September. Zian Flemming scored the winner in the 90th minute at Selhurst Park, according to Sky Sports.
However, the other three games were defeats. Ipswich lost 5-2 at Manchester United, 2-0 at home to Liverpool and 1-0 at Everton. Abdul Fatawu was sent off at Everton for a second yellow card, so he misses this game. Also, the club has yet to keep a clean sheet this season.
Fulham are one of three teams without a win. They lost 3-2 to Chelsea, 1-0 at Sunderland and 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace. Then they drew 0-0 at Liverpool and 1-1 at home with Manchester United. Lisandro Martinez’s own goal put Fulham ahead in that game, but Matheus Cunha equalised in the 89th minute. Read more in our Fulham 1-1 Manchester United report.

Both clubs have a new manager this season, so neither side has a settled pattern yet. Gary O’Neil took over at Ipswich in June, after Kieran McKenna left, according to ITV Anglia. Fulham appointed Alvaro Arbeloa, the former Real Madrid coach, in July. Sky Sports reported that he replaced Marco Silva.
Arbeloa spoke on Friday but stayed positive. He said, “We will play against a very good team who have also had a tough start, like us.” He also said Ipswich “can defend, they can attack”, and called them a well-balanced side. The FA has charged him with misconduct over his comments about the referee after the Manchester United game.
Ipswich are without the suspended Fatawu. Also, midfielder Jack Taylor is a doubt with a knee problem. Jaden Philogene may take Fatawu’s place on the wing. O’Neil said he has spent the last three weeks trying to be ready for Fulham.
Fulham have a small worry at the back. Antonee Robinson hurt his ankle in training on Thursday. Arbeloa said he will probably be fit, but he may not last 90 minutes. Tete is back after concussion. Tom Cairney has returned from knee surgery, but he is not expected to play. Iwobi and Bassey are both in the predicted Fulham line-ups, with Iwobi in attacking midfield and Bassey at centre-back. Confirmed teams come about an hour before kick-off.
Iwobi has created 10 chances this season, and Oscar Bobb has created eight, so Fulham will look to them for ideas. Check our Super Eagles squad page for the latest on both players.
Ipswich have never lost to Fulham in the Premier League. They are unbeaten in four meetings, with one win and three draws. The only win was 1-0 at Portman Road in January 2002, while the last two meetings were both in 2024/25. They ended 1-1 at Portman Road and 2-2 at Craven Cottage.
We expect a tight game and lean towards a 1-1 draw, with both teams to score. Ipswich have conceded in each of their last 24 league games, which is a club record. Their last clean sheet was a 2-0 win over Chelsea on 30 December 2024. So Fulham should find a way through, even though they struggle on the road.
On the other hand, Fulham have not won an away league game since February. They are winless in their last seven away league matches, and they have not scored in their last two. Ipswich also lose too often at home, because they have won only two of 21 Premier League home games since the start of 2024/25. Still, that points to a draw more than a win for either side.

Kick-off is 3:00 pm on Saturday, 10 October 2026, which is 3:00 pm in Nigeria (WAT), at Portman Road.
Both are named in the predicted Fulham line-ups, with Iwobi in the attacking midfield and Bassey at centre-back. Confirmed teams come about an hour before kick-off.
After five games, Ipswich are 11th with six points and Fulham are 19th with two points, still without a win. Both figures date from 20 September.
Ipswich winger Abdul Fatawu is suspended after he was sent off at Everton. We found no confirmed Fulham suspensions.
We expect a tight game and lean towards a 1-1 draw, with both teams to score. It is an analysis-based view, not a certainty.
