Ronaldo Scores at Record Sixth World Cup
Did you know? Cristiano Ronaldo became the first footballer in history to score at six different FIFA World Cups.
The Portuguese legend, aged 41, netted a first-half brace in Portugal’s 5-0 demolition of Uzbekistan at the 2026 World Cup, breaking a record previously shared by no one.
His first goal made him the second-oldest scorer in World Cup history, behind Cameroon legend Roger Milla.
Ronaldo has now scored at every World Cup from 2006 through to 2026, a feat that is unlikely to ever be matched.

Nigeria’s 1994 World Cup Debut — Africa’s Finest Hour
Did you know? When Nigeria first appeared at the 1994 World Cup, they became the highest-ranked African team in FIFA history, reaching No. 5 in the global rankings.
The Super Eagles made their tournament debut in the USA in 1994, entering as African Champions after winning AFCON in Tunisia earlier that year.
Nigeria topped a group containing Argentina and Bulgaria, and came within two minutes of reaching the quarter-finals before Roberto Baggio’s late goals sent them out 2-1 against Italy.
That squad — featuring Jay-Jay Okocha, Rashidi Yekini and Emmanuel Amunike — is still celebrated as one of the greatest generations of Nigerian footballers.
