Victor Osimhen is set to become Galatasaray’s new captain following Mauro Icardi’s departure from the Turkish champions.
Osimhen, who served as Icardi’s deputy, helped Okan Buruk’s side win back-to-back Super Lig titles and has now completed his pre-season medicals ahead of the new campaign.
He is expected to finally take up the number 9 shirt he wore throughout his Napoli career, having worn number 14 at Galatasaray out of respect for Icardi.
Osimhen remains linked with Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United, though Galatasaray insist he is not for sale.
